Port Phillip authorizes permits for 10 participating EV owners to install chargers in front of their homes. Permit holders pay for the Kerb Charger unit manufactured by Melbourne-based Kerb Charge and approved by Energy Safe Victoria. The Kerb Charger connects to the user's household electrical supply for inexpensive vehicle charges. This water-proof device pops up when in use and locks into the sidewalk for pedestrian safety.
