Gainesville, FL Alachua Habitat for Humanity Housing Pilot

The Affordable Housing Property-Donation Pilot Program uses surplus lots for expanded housing opportunities. City leaders donated unused public property for development by the nonprofit organization. Eleven homes will be built on the lots and sold to first-time homeowners earning up to 80% of the area median income. Gainesville amended the project's housing covenant for permanent affordability by requiring future buyers to meet the same income requirements.
