Saskatoon, SK Two-Year LED Streetlight Upgrade
City-owned Saskatoon Light & Power will turn 17,000 of its 27,000 street fixtures into LED lights. The project reduces emissions by 114,000 tons over the lifespan of the new fixtures. Saskatoon achieves a 60% reduction in energy usage and decreased maintenance needs from the durable lights. Area residents will learn more about reductions in light pollution, emissions, and public costs through the utility's What's the Bright Idea marketing effort.
