Council leaders sought improved adherence to a 2014 state law requiring property owners to control invasive plants. Sunshine Coast will send teams to inspect properties of 4,000 square meters or more during the one-year pilot. Each inspection includes an assessment of current mitigation measures and sample collection for further research. Property owners receive resources like a mobile app and identification sheets to support their efforts.
