Fairfield, NSW Food Hub Partnership COVID-19 Lockdown
Fairfield reassigned staff from its Early Education and Care (ECEC) team for meal preparation. Nine council kitchens produced up to 1,000 meals each day with consideration for specific cultural and dietary needs. Project partners like The Park Networks Inc. and CORE Community Services assisted the council with meal deliveries. The Food Hub Partnership focused on disadvantaged and isolated households disproportionately impacted by the months-long lockdown.
