The council replaced fleet vehicles with three Nissan LEAFs and two plug-in Renaults. A 50kW public charger was added on a trial basis in the suburb of Altona. Local residents used the Chargefox app to access the charger for free. Hobsons Bay pursued both initiatives as part of its goal of net-zero emissions by 2030. Council officials also identified Altona as an ideal location for EV drivers traveling through Greater Melbourne.
