London Borough of Islington partnered with Word 4 Weapons, the leading weapons surrender charity, to install six new knife bins. The bins provide residents with a safe and anonymous place to dispose of knives thereby reducing the risk of them being used as a weapon or for self-harm. The knives collected in the bins are melted down and reformed into awards for local community organizations.
