Hartford, CT HEARTeam Crisis Intervention Pilot Service

HEARTeam first responders are sourced from the Community Renewal Team, Capitol Region Mental Health Center, and Wheeler Clinic. Emergency dispatchers contact HEARTeam when 911 calls are better served by these partners than police officers. Callers receive personalized assistance including mobile crisis services, youth mental health services, and signposting to other providers. The program allocates police resources to emergencies and de-escalates non-violent situations.
