The joint project funded by the Finnish Ministry of Finance studies how digital information is currently stored and utilized within municipal departments. Project leaders will create a framework for legal compliance and best practices for information management. Turku and Espoo will use new tools to bring this framework to life by early 2023. Turku, FI produces Save Turku augmented reality game for resident engagement with local history
City officials and area developer CTRL Reality Oy honored Turku's 800 years of history with an interactive game. The free mobile app uses augmented reality for a guided adventure through Turku. The objective of Save Turku is to recover the city's founding document with help from local actors. Individuals and teams are asked to carefully observe historical attractions in their search for clues starting from the Old Great Square.

The city worked with Neuvo Oy Global to create an AI-enabled bot that includes 11% of residents who don't speak Finnish or Swedish. Åbot uses a conversational style to impart COVID-19 testing and services information in 100 languages. Datasets from the Turku Welfare Division and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare inform the bot's advice. A one-month testing period and a four-month pilot refined the bot through hundreds of interactions.
