Boston, MA deploys AI to map and optimize curb space

Boston has launched the Curb Lab, a cross-departmental initiative led by the city's Office of Emerging Technology, to digitize and dynamically manage kerb (curb) space using artificial intelligence and open data. The program creates a real-time digital map of parking regulations by converting historical rules and sign data into an accessible database, addressing growing pressures from ridesharing, e-commerce deliveries, and accessibility needs.
