Boulder, CO determines feasibility of vehicle-to-building technology in pilot with Fermata Energy
Boulder, CO Vehicle-to-Building Technology Pilot
Boulder and Fermata Energy installed a two-way electric vehicle charger at the North Boulder Recreation Center. A city-owned Nissan LEAF charges overnight when the building's energy needs are low. Excess battery energy is sent back to the building during high-demand periods when the vehicle is connected. Residents can evaluate pilot performance using a public dashboard. A successful trial would add an off-grid energy option for residential, commercial, and public buildings.
