Brighton & Hove City Council, GB Bikes Empowerment Victims

The council seeks donations of used bikes from city residents. Project partners Cranks and Sustrans make repairs and conduct safety checks. The refurbished bikes are delivered to women and children staying at the RISE sanctuary for domestic abuse victims. Recipients are offered riding lessons and encouraged to use their bikes for outdoor activities and errands. Brighton & Hove operates this program under its Active Fund for Sustainable Transportation initiative.
