Cary, NC IoT sensors proactive flood monitoring
The Town of Cary partnered with Microsoft and the SAS Institute to protect residents from river flooding with IoT sensors. The town is using smart water level sensors and rain gauges to collect real-time data on potential flooding events. Before the installation of these sensors, residents would have to call and report flooding. The IoT sensors allow the town the monitor water levels, predict flooding, and proactively reroute traffic to protect residents.
