Chandler, AZ evaluates Voatz blockchain voting technology during mock bond election
Chandler, AZ Voatz Blockchain Technology Mock Election
The city council approved a non-binding voting period of three weeks following the November 2021 bond election. The Voatz mobile app asks for a photo of an ID card and selfie to unlock a ballot. The mobile ballot includes five bond questions and a question about using the technology in future elections. This technology allows for anonymized and secure voting along with quicker tabulation. Chandler officials hope for a successful pilot that demonstrates viability to county and state officials.
