Charters Towers, QLD develops augmented reality app to place users at local landmarks during WWII
Charters Towers, QLD WWII Augemented Reality App
The council worked with local historians and designers to develop the Towers Hill in WWII app. Visitors to the Towers Hill lookout area use the app to see what the area looked like during the war. Points of interest including a bunker and a now-demolished landmark are brought to life through the app. The AR experience extends to recruitment poster filters and a simulated B-52 flyover. Charters Towers uses the app to attract visitors and increase tourism jobs.
