The Cobb County Sheriff's Office is planning to deploy a fleet of mobile trauma kits to guide first responders through providing emergency aid. The backpack-sized first aid device includes a touch-screen interface which guides the responder through the care steps across 70 different scenarios and provides a supply of first aid materials. The technology will be helpful during shootings, stabbings, drug overdoses, and other critical situations.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office is creating a "compliance" area within the county jail where low-risk inmates, who have been incarcerated for 30 days without incident, can be transferred. The inmates will be rewarded for their good behavior with increased access to educational materials and a messaging system to communicate with their families at a reduced cost. The educational materials can also be used to satisfy court-imposed class requirements such as anger management.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office announced that the jail would be providing continuous mental healthcare services to inmates. This program its the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. The program is being designed in recognition of the fact that detention facilities have become de facto mental health providers. The Adult Detention Center will have a full-time psychiatrist on staff to quickly assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health issues.

Cobb County, GA implements real-time medical monitoring wristband system for at-risk inmates
The Cobb County Sheriff's Office is implementing a medical monitoring wristband system to track the location and heart rate of at-risk inmates. The wristbands developed by Black Creek Integrated Systems are hypoallergenic, waterproof, and secured by a specialized clasp. The wristband's battery life is between 30 to 90 days and the location tracking is accurate within 2 meters. The wristbands will be monitored in a database at all times and a lack of a heart rate automatically triggers the alarm.

Cobb County's Community Development Agency created the online Zoning Analysis map which allows users to explore nearby zoning cases. Each month the County's Zoning Division updates the zoning analysis information on rezoning, special land use permits, permit requests, etc. In addition to the publicly available online Zoning Analysis map, the County hosts all documents related to zoning cases on a public Google Drive.

Cobb County's Department of Transportation and Information Services launched "Cobb Commute" an online GIS map which displays real-time local traffic speeds and road conditions. The County also added an inclement weather page which can be activated by the Department of Transportation to show treatment status for snowy and icy roads. The County designed this GIS application to help residents plan their trips more efficiently and reduce commute times.

Cobb County created a Grocery Store and Inventory Hub to show residents where essential supplies are in stock during the COVID-19 pandemic. Crowdsourcing information was used to generate the map and the data is updated daily. Local shoppers submit anonymous surveys indicating the safety protocols being conducted at the stores and their supply of toilet paper, produce, medications, etc. As of April 22, approximately 704 surveys have been anonymously submitted.
