The City of Paterson is proposing a new program that would expand medically assisted treatment (MAT) options to residents struggling with opioid addiction. The program would provide on-demand MAT onboarding and prescriptions to appropriate patients within 90 minutes at any time. The MAT proposal earned Paterson the title of "Champion City" as a finalist in the 2021 Global Mayors Challenge.
