The San Diego County Sheriff's Department launched a pilot program for outfitting deputies with body-worn cameras in the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility. The pilot includes 72 deputies at the women's jail, approximately 30% of the deputies working at the facility, making it the first in the regio to use body-worn cameras. Survey feedback from the participating deputies will be used to improve the department's body-worn camera policies and identify the best training practices.
