Chula Vista, CA connects police officers to 911 calls with live-streaming platform
Chula Vista Police Department and HigherGround piloted the Live911 system with drone pilots and two officers prior to broader adoption. Live911 allows patrols to overhear emergency calls between dispatchers and residents. The platform automatically assigns calls to officers in the area. Officers reduce their emergency response times while gathering subtle details not captured in dispatch notes. Chula Vista is the first U.S. city to implement a live-streaming dispatch system.
