The city of Gainesville is partnering with Envisio to build a cloud-based platform and a public-facing dashboard to manage the implementation of its strategic plan. The new tool will replace the time-consuming Excel spreadsheets currently being used by the city's leadership team to monitor strategic plan progress. The new tool will leverage available data to enhance decision-making while providing better oversight, accountability, and public transparency across the various projects.

Gainesville, FL increases resident access to healthy food with Edible Groves Project
A coordinated effort by six city departments created groves in Fred Cone Park and Smokey Bear Park. Native trees bearing oranges, mulberries, and other fruits are freely accessible to residents in need of fresh fruits. Each grove includes a sign with a QR code that leads to an informational page on the project. Gainesville plans another grove on Southwest 40th Boulevard in the near future with all groves maintained by volunteers and city workers.

Gainesville, FL deploys RoadBotics technology to evaluate road conditions
The Gainesville Public Works Department first gathered road imagery using RoadSense in 2018. This mobile app captures images of road surfaces every 10 feet. The RoadWay platform uses artificial intelligence to detect potholes, uneven surfaces, and other flaws. A departmental map labels each segment on a five-point scale from 1 for excellent to 5 for poor. Gainesville plans another citywide street review in 2021 to plan for future road projects.
