Borough leaders identified a lack of adequate facilities for local entrepreneurs and startups. Islington recruited operators for free or low-cost workspaces aimed at small businesses. Operators also provide mentoring, skill-building, and marketing support for their tenants. The first round of Affordable Workspaces included a textile workshop, recording studio, and retail space. Ten sites totaling 4,793 square meters of functional workspace were operational as of September 2022.

The knives collected in the bins are melted down and reformed into awards for local community organizations.

London Borough of Islington partnered with Dennis Eagle to become the first borough in London to use an electric refuse collection truck. The 26-tonne "eCollect" truck is an environmentally-friendly alternative to the traditional diesel truck. The eCollect truck does not produce any carbon emissions, it is quieter than conventional collection trucks, and is expected to be cheaper to run over its lifetime.

Borough officials partnered with Beryl Bikes to implement the country's first bike-sharing program of its kind. Eight e-cargo bikes are available for public use at four docking stations selected for their proximity to main streets. Residents book their bike rides on the Beryl app and transport up to 80 kilograms during their journeys.
