Six hundred families were displaced from the Rondo neighborhood by the 12-year interstate project starting in 1956. The Inheritance Fund offers up to $100,000 for new home purchases within city limits for direct descendants of affected residents. The Fund's Homeowner Rehab Program issues no-interest loans of up to $55,000 for qualifying home repairs. An additional $10,000 and $25,000 are available for home purchases and repairs, respectively, within the Rondo neighborhood.

The cities of St Paul and Minneapolis are discussing the creation of joint bike-share and scooter-share programs that will allow riders to cross city boundaries. These programs would address the issue of discarded vehicles on each city's borders by allow users to ride seamlessly between the cities. Currently the vehicles are automatically disabled when they cross the vendors programming area.

St. Paul, St. Louis, and Baton Rouge are piloting a pollution tracking app called Marine Debris Tracker. Volunteers and local organizations research areas from each city's sampling map during the one-month pilot. The app maps precise locations of litter based on user inputs and phone locations. Marine Debris Tracker was developed by the National Geographic Society and the University of Georgia to crowdsource data on the extent of waterway pollution.

The city council approved an 18-month pilot that pays $500 per month to 150 selected families. The participating families were selected from the CollegeBound Saint Paul college savings program. Participants also demonstrated financial impacts from COVID-19 prior to selection. Pilot payments are supplied through dedicated debit cards for use without limitations. The city and its project partners will also deposit $10 per month in each recipient's CollegeBound account.

St Paul, MN partners with Minneapolis on Twin Cities Electric Vehicle Mobility Network
The two cities are working with local nonprofit HOURCAR to offer one-way carsharing trips in electric vehicles. HOURCAR users can leave their EVs at any on-street spot unless the battery charge falls to a certain level. St. Paul and Minneapolis will manage a network of new charging stations for HOURCAR drivers and EV owners. The TCEVMN will be fully unveiled by 2022 following online community meetings, surveys in six languages, and neighborhood-level education campaigns.
