Ausgrid plans a network of 30,000 pole-mounted EV chargers from EVX by 2029. Newcastle hosts Australia's first Polecharger unit at Dixon Beach Park in Mereweather. This charging system offers dual chargers, minimal installation requirements, and a mobile app for user access. The Dixon Beach Park unit accommodates tourists and local beachgoers with limited EV charging options. The Polecharger network will focus on street and garage parking with long dwell times.
