Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties are working with Via on a two-year pilot under the SMART regional transit agency name. Each county has a pilot zone with four vehicles available for on-demand rides seven days a week. SMART Flex users pay between $2 and $8 per ride for door-to-door service requested on a dedicated app. SMART selected each zone based on connectivity to fixed-route transit along with daily traffic levels.
