VIPER - Vulnerable Indicators for Properties in Emergency Response - was built by the council on the low-code Liberty Create platform. This system uses social care, utilities, and other data to identify vulnerable households in the county. First responders from local and regional councils consult VIPER for targeted responses during emergency situations. Cumbria County Council received £139,000 from the Local Digital Fund to expand VIPER's capabilities and reach.

Thorn Lighting first trialed directional lighting along the trail at Cliff Terrace that reduced light spill into the night sky. Plurio light fixtures connected to the NightTune system were later added to a Workington park and a neighborhood in Glenridding. This intelligent lighting platform adjusts each fixture's brightness and color based on the time of day.

The Council's Highways department used the community feedback to take inventory of directional signs and way markers and assess requirements for refurbishment or repair.

Cumbria County Council's Community Development and Waste Management teams launched the "Resourceful Communities" project to promote waste prevention. Participating community groups received online training to help plan their own waste prevention events and activities. The Council supported their efforts to organise, host, and promote the events. Participating groups were asked to submit a report of their progress after six months in order to be officially endorsed as a "Resourceful Community".

Cumbria County Council, GB Fire and Rescue conducted a six-month trial of Rapid Response Vehicles
Cumbria County Council's Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service conducted a six-month trial of two new smaller, all-terrain Rapid Response Vehicles. The vehicles include new equipment including an ultra-efficient firefighting pump and battery-operated cutting equipment which require fewer staff to operate compared to the previous models. The six-month trial was designed to determine if the Rapid Response Vehicles could replace the County's traditional fire engines.
