Jersey City, NJ takes initial steps toward electric vehicle fleets and infrastructure

Jersey City, NJ Electric Vehicle Fleets Infrastructure

Completo

Jersey City set a goal of 100% all-electric police and waste management vehicles by 2030. An initial purchase of four electric vehicles was used in a police department pilot. The city acquired five battery-powered garbage trucks, the first local government to do so in the region. Eight city fleet vehicles were replaced by four Nissan Leaf EVs to reduce emissions and costs. The installation of 24 chargers throughout the city complemented EV acquisitions.
