Orange County, FL helps domestic violence victims leave unsafe situations with child care pilot
Orange County identified childcare costs as an obstacle to residents leaving abusive environments. The two-year pilot uses $1 million in county funds to offset the costs of child care for domestic violence victims. Local member organizations in the Community Coordinated Care for Children identify and refer victims with children to childcare providers. The county's Neighborhood Centers for Families provide counseling, health services, and skills training to further assist participants.
