Summit County, OH moves building permits and inspections to GovWell portal

Summit County's Division of Building Standards began using GovWell, a new online platform for building permits and inspections, on Sept. 28, replacing its CityWorks portal for new requests. Applicants can apply for permits, submit plans, schedule inspections and track application status in one place, which officials expect will reduce review delays.

Summit County, OH upgrades to web-based jury system software with self check-in kiosks

The Summit County Council approved a $55,232 contract with California-based Jury Systems Inc. to modernize the Summit County Common Pleas Court's jury system software. The browser-based system will be replaced with a web-based system to allow prospective jurors to upload documents directly to the juror self-service portal. Jury Systems Inc. will also implement four free-standing kiosks to improve the efficiency of the juror check-in system while reducing person-to-person contact.
