The City of Vaasa is conducting a pilot of the Echo Card to improve equal opportunities for participation in cultural and sports activities. The Echo Card provides low-income individuals with free tickets to participating cultural and sports events. The city partnered with the Vaasa Settlement Association and various local venues to ensure an abundance of offers for Echo Card users. Cardholders can also purchase free tickets for children under the age of 16 for the same event.

The City of Vaasa conducted a pilot of the Evondos drug delivery robot for home care clients. The city installed Evondos vending machines in the homes of 30 clients to improve customer safety and independence. The vending machines notify the customer when it is time to take their medication and dispenses the exact dose. Caregivers automatically receive an alert if the medicine is not taken out of the machine by the customer.

The city uses Maptionnaire's engagement software to create surveys during the planning phase of its urban engineering projects. These online Maptionnaire surveys are then published on social media and through physical advertisements. Survey respondents provide feedback on the zoning map in order to provide the city's urban planners with more data.
