Waimakariri District Council partnered with Meridian to install electric vehicle chargers in public car parks. The dual-socketed 22kw AC charging stations can deliver up to 120km of travel per hour of charging. The chargers are fully owned and operated by Meridian but they cover the full cost of the equipment and installation while the Council simply licenses access to the land.

Waimakariri District Council conducted an audit of kerbside recycling bins to reduce contaminates. Residents received information packs reviewing common rubbish items that are non-recyclable along with an updated recycling bin lid sticker. Auditors left a flyer explaining whether the household bin was "spot on" or "could do better" but badly contaminated bins were not collected. Residents that continuously placed rubbish in their recycling bins had their bin removed but were still charged.

Residents can register their property online in order to receive text or email alerts reminding them to put their rubbish bins and bags outside. Only 900 households subscribed for the service within the first four months of its launch but the Council continues to encourage residents to register.

Waimakariri District Council launched a series of online payment options for residents. Users can access the payment portal to pay fines for building, littler, dog, parking, and noise infringements. Users can also pay invoices and animal registrations. The Council plans to extend the payment options over the coming year.

Waimakariri District Council, NZ developed a pop-up Town Centre display to receive public feedback
Waimakariri District Council developed a pop-up display to engage residents and receive feedback on the Rangiora Town Centre Strategy. The display entitled "Rangiora Town Centre: Past and Future" showcased historical photos of the Town Centre alongside the Council's plans for its future development. Attendees were encouraged to provide ideas for developing the Town Centre over the next 10 years, given a copy of the official Consultation Document, and taught how to make a formal submission.
