The City of Edinburgh Council, GB Empowered Learning Student

A partnership between the council and CGI provides free iPads to every city school student aged 10 to 18. This project includes 27,000 tablets for students and teachers without iPads along with 12,000 replacement tablets. Empowered Learning adds Wi-Fi hotspots to city schools for stronger Internet access. Teachers receive training in digital learning methods for improved student outcomes. The program narrows the attainment gap as required by Edinburgh's three-year business plan.
