The five-year project connects 100 intersections throughout Arlington to a cloud-based prioritization system. Location data from Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) systems and mobile devices are communicated to traffic lights via the Smart Priority System. Truck drivers receive alerts on estimated times to green lights and ideal speeds for uninterrupted trips through intersections. This North Central Texas Council of Governments-funded project reduces emissions and traffic congestion.
