County officials worked with ESB Innovation to monitor traffic in the Dublin 15 district. This pilot generated real-time data on vehicle speed, dwell times, and congestion levels. The Dublin 15 district was selected due to its proximity to traffic bottlenecks including the airport and two major motorways. Fingal County adjusted traffic lights based on pilot results with an eye toward future smart traffic projects.
