AMPS improves resident responses to tickets while freeing courts for more complex cases. Offenders can pay their fines minus 25% discounts within 15 days of receipt. An appeal to dismiss can be filed with a screening officer and then a hearing officer during the 15-day window. AMPS allows the ticket recipient to request online or phone appeals at the screening officer level. A failed appeal requires payment of the ticket plus a $25 CAD administrative fee.
