Hambleton District Council partnered with North Yorkshire County Council to launch a free central heating scheme. Homeowners and tenants using an inefficient heating system while receiving certain state benefits or making less than £21,000 are eligible to participate. Participating households receive an A-rated gas-powered central heating system at no cost. So far, the Councils have installed the free central heating systems in 14 local households.
