City officials and the German Architecture Museum sought ways to bring people back to the square after COVID-19 restrictions. Innovative groups presented ideas for temporary art installations, mobility solutions, and activities on The Hauptwache. Fifty-eight projects were narrowed to 17 finalists based on feasibility and impacts on visitor experiences. The competition generated pilot proposals including mobile sports equipment, a community kitchen, and pop-up art kiosks.
