Prince William County deployed the new Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) technology to process its emergency calls. By upgrading its 911 infrastructure the county can now obtain better location data from callers and transfer misrouted calls faster. Eventually the county will be able to receive photos from callers during a incident and those photos will be available via a FOIA records request from the county's Department of Public Safety Communications.
