Wigan officials integrated this service into its operations so that residents are more comfortable visiting public gyms and pools. Borough residents access WelcoME through the BeWell Wigan app. WelcoME allows users to communicate with facility staff about their accessibility needs prior to visits. Staff members learn how to best serve patrons with disabilities through app-based videos and guides.
