Cumbria County Council's Community Development and Waste Management teams launched the "Resourceful Communities" project to promote waste prevention. Participating community groups received online training to help plan their own waste prevention events and activities. The Council supported their efforts to organise, host, and promote the events. Participating groups were asked to submit a report of their progress after six months in order to be officially endorsed as a "Resourceful Community".
