Edmonton, AB fills gap left by zoning and planning maps with Municipal Natural Asset Mapping
Edmonton, AB Municipal Natural Asset Mapping
The program produced the urban Primary Land and Vegetation Inventory (uPLVI). This data portal highlights areas in Edmonton containing vegetation and tree canopy. Aerial photos were digitized and mapped to produce an accurate spatial inventory. uPLVI users can view natural assets represented in charts, bar graphs, and a color-coded map. Edmonton's data team packages versions of uPLVI data for other local governments, academic researchers, and teachers.
