Santa Monica, CA Right to Counsel Pilot Legal Rights Tenants

The city attorney's office entered an agreement with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) for the pilot. Renters within city limits who earn less than 80% of the area median income for Los Angeles County qualify for legal assistance. LAFLA attorneys provide comprehensive services for tenants who have experienced financial hardships and health problems due to COVID-19. The Right to Counsel pilot follows the template used by Stay Housed L.A. County for other communities.
