Marietta, GA is improving road safety with TravelSafely app
Marietta drivers, and pedestrians are using the TravelSafely app to prevent traffic accidents, avoid unsafe motorists, and circumvent traffic jams. The Fire Department is using the app to improve emergency response times by triggering green lights are pre-cleared intersections.

GTA Honors Marietta for “Smart Traffic” Network | Georgia Technology Authority
State CIO and GTA Executive Director Calvin Rhodes presented Marietta city officials with a 2019 Technology Innovation Showcase award on October 11 for their “smart traffic” network, known as Travel Safely. Marietta is the first city in the country to fully implement a comprehensive technology solution to reduce the response times of first responders; make drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians more visible to each other; and improve traffic flow.
Project geslaagd
The Marietta Fire Department reduced response times by an average of one minute in 18 months thanks to communications between on-truck software and traffic lights.
