Onkaparinga, SA Threatening Behaviour Training Program

Council officials sought a cost-effective training method for approximately 700 employees. The four-tier program combines online and in-person instruction on de-escalation methods when dealing with abusive or violent people. Trainees are also taught to report incidents rather than accepting threatening acts as part of their work. Onkaparinga hopes that the program reduces the 14% share of incident reports related to threatening actions or words.
