West Hollywood, CA approves a guaranteed income pilot for older LGBTIA residents

West Hollywood, CA LGBTIA Guaranteed Income Pilot

Residents aged 50 and older who identify as LGBTIA and earn less than $41,400 per year can apply for the program. Twenty-five eligible applicants will be selected for $1,000 monthly payments through September 2023. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania will evaluate how the funds improve the health and wellbeing of this vulnerable demographic. West Hollywood is working with the National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles to administer the first pilot of this type in the United States.
