Paterson, NJ combats city’s opioid problem with RealFix program

This initiative aims to reduce barriers to treatment by providing faster access to medication-assisted therapy for opioid use disorder. By leveraging technology and partnerships with local pharmacies, Paterson seeks to improve health outcomes and support individuals in their recovery journey.

RealFix, funded with a $1 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, has handled 213 clients since it started early last year. That group that includes 85 people who were unsheltered when they entered the program.
