The centerpiece of the Safe Newham Project is borough training about hate crime laws for community organizations. Twelve organizations serve as alternate reporting centers for city residents concerned with filing reports in police stations. Additional training for borough personnel, religious leaders, and youth leaders increases understanding of qualifying acts under hate crime legislation.
