PedalAid establishes a monthly cycling goal of 3,000 kilometers for app users. Cyclists activate a donation from the council to a local non-profit when they reach this goal. Top riders also enter monthly giveaways of shop vouchers and cycling gear. The PedalAid challenge applies to any user rides completed on the 32-kilometer Red Squirrel Trail. Local officials conduct regular surveys of app users about their riding experiences.
