Tempe, AZ is building the first U.S. car-free neighborhood
En curso
The City of Tempe has partnered with Culdesac to build the first car-free neighborhood in the United States. In this neighborhood of over 1,000 people, residents will not have privately owned cars or parking lots, but there will be enough parking for visitors and ride-sharing apps. The Culdesac Tempe development will still serve residents' mobility needs, with an on-site light rail station, a connective shuttle bus, dedicated rideshare pick-up zones, and many more forms of transportation.
