Charleston, SC safety prohibitions on public gatherings
The City of Charleston passed an ordinance establishing new safety prohibitions on protests and public gatherings including religious services, speeches, demonstrations, etc. The ordinance requires all groups of 25 or more to obtain a permit from Charleston Police Department, bans open carry firearms, makes it illegal to disrupt pedestrian or vehicular traffic, and prevents gathering within 15 feet of monuments or memorials.
