Boise, ID ADU Tiny Home Pilots New Affordable Housing

In Progress

A 2021 study named Boise the country's least affordable housing market. City officials are determining if Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and tiny homes can counter this trend. Ten homeowners will be approved for ADU construction as long as they rent to residents under established income limits. Six chosen applicants can build tiny homes with up to three homes per lot. Participants benefit from waived impact fees, permitting assistance, and property management assistance from LEAP Housing.
